  • Trinidad Media Luna & Tomatin tasting cgars st james Wednesday 6th Sept. 7-9pm

I'm booked into this if anyone's around. I've never tried a ML. So this is an excuse for a tasting £55.

As its only a PR, im planning on trying a Tatuaje after depending on time.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Sounds good. Tomatin produce some excellent single malts.

What’s with the deluge of cigar tasting events?
mind you none near me so not really much of an enticement.

There's been a definite uptick in these events. Loads down here because of if the shops of course. We're not the best at herfing around here. So I'll take the occasional tasting.

I’ll have to miss this one as I’m on my holidays. But Mitch’s tasting evenings are normally enjoyable.

Another successful tasting. Tomatin guy was there for the whisky intros. Although he had to dash midway through. Decent whisky these Tomatin. He suggested we might be the first people out in retail land to try the Italian selection - oak/marsala, amerone and barolo finished - 10/2. TBF all tasted the same to me. OK without the bananas and berrys ... these people are crazy. But I think the barolo finish was the smoothest for me and the marsala was a bit overpowering the cigar. Although it was paired with the first third. *shrug*

Media Luna did not disappoint. Lovely grassy cold aroma. Immediately hit a little oilyness and floods of loverly aroma when lit.

Jimmy McGee on form as usual. As we were talking about Trinidad. One of the guys there pulled an early box of 24 gold band Fundadores from his locker for us to gawp at.

25yo Glenfarclas at the end. Lovely drop to finish.

Now I’m VERY jealous. If it wasn’t my wife’s birthday yesterday I would’ve tagged along.

Hahahhahaha even Castro wouldn’t have done it. Risk of going from Castro to Castrate is too high
